Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Safety Awareness
Electric and hybrid vehicles can be silent, energised and capable of unexpected movement. This course gives dealership, workshop, valeting, reception, parking and other non-high-voltage staff the awareness needed to recognise the hazards and stay within clear role boundaries.
What you will learn
- Recognise common electric and hybrid vehicle types and warning features.
- Understand high-voltage, stored-energy, movement and thermal-runaway hazards.
- Apply safe workshop, charging, lifting, recovery and handover precautions.
- Know when to stop and refer the vehicle to a suitably trained, competent and authorised person.
Awareness is not authorisation. Completion does not qualify anyone to isolate, prove dead, repair, recover, dismantle or work on a high-voltage system. Model-specific information, practical training, competence assessment and employer authorisation remain essential.
Format: Seven lessons, approximately 60–75 minutes, followed by a 12-question final assessment. Pass mark: 80%.
