DSE (Display Screen Equipment) Awareness

Screen work should not leave people accepting daily aches as normal. This practical DSE Awareness course shows learners how to set up chairs, screens, keyboards, mice and laptops; use breaks and movement properly; manage home and hot-desk work; understand eye-test rights; and report problems before they become established.

It also explains the part many short courses miss: training supports the DSE assessment process but does not replace the employer’s duty to assess the individual workstation, review the findings and complete actions.

What you will learn

• What counts as display screen equipment and when the Great Britain regulations normally apply.
• How to set up a chair, desk, screen, keyboard, mouse and laptop.
• How breaks, task changes, movement and lighting help manage fatigue and discomfort.
• How to apply the same principles to office, home, hybrid, mobile and hot-desk work.
• Eye-test rights, individual needs and early reporting.
• How the workstation assessment, competent review and action process fit together.

Course structure: Eight concise lessons and a twelve-question final assessment. You need 80% to pass.
