Food allergen information is safety-critical. This course explains the UK requirements commonly known as Natasha’s Law and shows staff how to recognise PPDS food, use the correct ingredients information, emphasise regulated allergens, control recipe and supplier changes, answer customers honestly and stop products when labels are missing or uncertain.

What you will learn

  • Recognise PPDS food and distinguish it from other food categories
  • Identify the 14 regulated allergens and how they appear in ingredients lists
  • Check food names, recipes, supplier information, labels and version control
  • Prevent allergen cross-contact and respond safely to customer questions
  • Control substitutions, incidents, stop sale, withdrawal and emergency response

Includes eight lessons and a 12-question final assessment with an 80% pass mark and unlimited retakes.

Training boundary: this course provides awareness only. Employers must provide role-specific instruction, practical competence assessment, controlled recipes and labels, supervision and defined authorisation.
