This awareness course covers the safe use of standard hand signals during hazardous workplace manoeuvres, including control hierarchy, competence, safe positioning, exclusion zones, general and directional signals, loss of visual contact, radios and stop-work rules.
Competence boundary: completion does not qualify or authorise a learner to act as a banksman, traffic marshal or lifting signaller. Employers must provide practical training, assessment and task-specific authorisation.
