Coil Spring Compressor Safety Awareness

Coil spring compression involves substantial stored energy. If the spring, compressor or an attachment slips, the release can be sudden and violent.

This practical online awareness course gives vehicle technicians and workshop supervisors the essential decisions to remember: use the exact approved system, complete the pre-use checks, control the direct and ricochet paths, apply load gradually and stop before improvising under load.

The course includes five focused lessons, a 10-question assessment and a Certificate of Completion. It supports knowledge but does not replace equipment-specific instruction, practical familiarisation, workplace authorisation, the current vehicle repair method or the local safe system of work.

A refresher is recommended every 12 months, or sooner after an incident, near miss, unsafe observation, prolonged non-use, or a change to equipment, instructions or process.
